Dance Options

  1. Dance Combination Classes: These combination classes are a great way to learn dance skills – to include tap, ballet, and jazz, without a team commitment. However, all students will receive quality training so that if they decide to move on to a team, they will be ready.  Our tap, ballet, and jazz classes are combined into one combination class to afford families the greatest flexibility in scheduling, and pricing.  Our certified and trained instructors know how to efficiently run your child’s class to ensure that even in non-competition classes, your child will increase her skills each class.  Classes start for as young as 2! All of our dance classes will be featured in our end of year recital!

  1. Dance Competition Teams:
    • DANCE COMPETITION TEAMS will compete at local dance competitions, and at sanctioned events by the USASF (US All Star Federation) in the various dance divisions. Team members will have one 1.5 hour group practice per week, and are encouraged to attend one other dance Combo class per week.   Our schedule allows our team members to take care of all of these requirements in no more than two days per week!  In fact, our schedule is set up so that it is possible for some team members to have both All Star Cheer practice and competition dance team practice on the same day!  Individual private lessons are available.  Dance Competition age group teams are:
      1. Ages 4-6: “DAISY” Must be 4 by August 31, 2019, and no older than 6 on August 31, 2019.
      2. Ages 6-9: “LILY”: Must be 6 by August 31, 2019, and no older than 9 on August 31, 2019.
      3. Ages 9-12: “IRIS”: Must be 9 by August 31, 2019, and no older than 12 on August 31, 2019.
      4. Ages 13up: “ROSE”: Must be 13 by August 31, 2019.
  • Ages 6 and 9 have two different options. These children will be evaluated in their preferred group the first two weeks of classes.  It is recommended you start in the younger of the two groups.
  • SOLO ONLY. We allow children to be a part of our competitive program through solo only competition, meaning you are not required to be a member of an age group team. The requirements for this include taking at least one dance class per week, and one private lesson per week.
  • Compare competition dance programs and you will find that our program is the most affordable in the area given that we do not require as many classes as others and thus your tuition will be lower.  Additional fees from Hillsborough Cheer & Dance Company will include a monthly administrative team fee of $20/member.  Each member is required to pay competition and costuming fees, divided out for your student.  However, we do not mark up these costs and strive to keep our competitive team accessible for the most children possible.  We are confident that our program is the most affordable you will find in the area.
  • EVALUATIONS. For our inaugural year, we will evaluate all interested dancers during their regular team practice time, for the first two weeks.  We will work with all athletes to find the correct placement.  No child will be “cut.”  This team is open to all skill levels – each team will compete on the appropriate level, which can range from beginner to advanced.
