Whether it’s joining a competitive dance team for your daughter, or a brand new hobby for yourself we understand there are a world of options! So, we’ve compiled some tips to help you decide which class is the best fit:
Here are some things to consider when selecting a cheer or dance class:
● Age and skill level. Hillsborough Cheer and Dance offers a variety of classes for all ages, but some classes are better suited for older or more experienced dancers. We compiled an Age Guide to help you get started in understanding which classes are available. For those just getting started in dance, we recommend our Dance Combo Class, which combines jazz, ballet, and tap. Or for those interested in Cheer our Cheer/Tumble Combo class is the perfect place to learn without the commitment of a cheer team.
● The goal. Understanding which class is the best fit depends on what one’s goals are in signing up for a class. Is it simply to learn a new skill? If so, then our kids ballroom, fitness, clogging or combo classes are a non-competitive and fun way to stay active throughout the week. If the goal, on the contrary, is to compete – opt for one of our dance or cheer competition teams.
● Group vs. Solo, Dance vs. Cheer. There are several options available for competitive cheer and dance. Competitive dance offers the opportunity of competing individually. . However, for those hoping to be a part of a team, cheer and dance teams are available from beginners to advanced skill levels.
